The SkinMagic Story
Growing up I had a very big imagination. As a child you would rarely find me wearing normal clothes but regularly some form of princess dress. As I got older my imagination continued, I gave out membership cards to family, friends, and strangers to ‘Gracie’s Spa and Nails’. I also ran my imaginary clothing boutique ‘Rose Petal’ on the side. I was destined to be a business owner. As a teenager, I spent hours in the skin care aisle at the grocery store reading every ingredient on every bottle. I watched every skin video on YouTube and was so eager to know more.
My teenage years were honestly a dark time in my life that I now don’t remember most of. I do know that I felt very strongly that I needed to graduate high school a year early and move to St George to enroll in an esthetician program. Many miracles fell into place so that I could make that move. I started in a dermatology office and was an assistant from 5 AM to 4 PM, to then an esthetics student from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM. My time in St George was a grind to say the least but it truly shaped me into the woman I am today. I met some of the most incredible people while I was there and it holds such a special place in my heart.
The day before my esthetics graduation my program director informed me that she gave my name to the school’s Provo campus. They needed someone to be over their theory program, and I guess you could say being the theory nerd in my class landed me the job. They asked me to move immediately and before I knew it I was a licensed instructor, briefly living in my car, writing the school’s theory curriculum.
After a summer as a teacher in Provo, I decided to move back to North Ogden and start Skin Magic (A move that was very healing for me). I used to tell my mom how ‘magical’ skincare was. She told me that if I ever started my own thing that it should be called “Skin Magic”. So when I started my business it wasn’t a question what it should be named.
When picking product lines and services to bring on, it was done with much thought and intention. My philosophy is that I will never recommend something to a client that I have not tried and tested myself. I do believe that the world of skin health is magical. I am grateful I get to connect with so many amazing people. I am blessed that I get to call this my job. Thank you for being here, YOU are the magic of Skin Magic.
See you soon,
